# Get the original uploaded knowledge or asset file

> Return a short-lived original-file download URL, expiration and file metadata. Use file sourceId from list_knowledge_sources (assetsOnly=true for assets). Treat the URL as private and expiring; do not publish it. This does not ingest, execute or reactivate the file. Required permission: knowledge:read. Connected business only; no tenant override.
