Requirements

  • A Facebook account with access to a Meta Business Portfolio (generally your personal Facebook account with admin access)
  • A phone number that:
    • Is currently connected to a WhatsApp Business account, or
    • Has never been connected to any WhatsApp account
Important:
  • You cannot connect a WhatsApp Personal number to Visito.
  • Once your number is connected to Visito, you can use it on the WhatsApp Business App (if you already have a WhatsApp Business account), but we recommend managing all messages through Visito.

Option A – Connect an existing WhatsApp Business number

How to connect your WhatsApp Business account to Visito
  1. Log in to your Visito account
  2. Go to the Connect page and select: WhatsApp > Connect
  3. From Visito, log in to your Facebook account (must have access to your Meta Business Portfolio)
  4. Follow the steps in Meta’s flow:
    • Make sure you already have an existing Business Portfolio. If not, create one in “Create a Business Portfolio.”
    • Enter your business name, website, and country
  5. Select your configuration
  6. Connect your existing WhatsApp Business App
  7. Enter your WhatsApp Business phone number
  8. Import contacts and chat history by scanning the QR code:
    • From your phone:
      1. Open the WhatsApp Business app
      2. Go to Settings > Linked Devices > Link Device
      3. Scan the QR code shown on screen
  9. Accept the terms and steps requested by the WhatsApp Business app on your phone
  10. Your number is now connected

Option B – Connect a completely new number

How to connect your new number to Visito
  1. Log in to your Visito account
  2. Go to the Connect page and select: WhatsApp > Connect
  3. From Visito, log in to your Facebook account (must have access to your Meta Business Portfolio)
  4. Follow the steps in Meta’s flow:
    • Make sure you already have an existing Business Portfolio. If not, create one in “Create a Business Portfolio.”
    • Enter your business name, website, and country
  5. Select your configuration:
    • “Start with a new WhatsApp phone number.”
  6. Create or select your WhatsApp Business account and complete the requested fields
  7. Add the phone number you want to connect
    • Important: Do NOT use the free number provided by Meta. You must use a real number that you own and have access to
  8. Verify your number via SMS or phone call
  9. Your new number is now connected

Add a payment method in Meta

  1. Log in to your Visito account
  2. Go to the Connect page > WhatsApp > Manage > Set up payment > Set up
  3. Select your WhatsApp account
  4. Go to the “Accounts” page > Add payment method
  5. Enter your credit card information > Save
  6. Make sure this method is marked as predeterminado (default)

Meta charges for:
  • Outbound messages are sent 24 hours of the last user interaction
  • Automated messages from events (if you use a PMS integration)
  • Brand-new conversations started via the “New Conversation” feature

Sending new WhatsApp messages

  1. In Visito, click New Conversation
  2. Fill in the required fields:
    • Country and phone number
    • (Optional) Contact name
    • Your message (PDFs and images allowed)

  • Do not use more than 4 consecutive spaces
  • Avoid excessive line breaks
  • Use bold to structure your message

WhatsApp message status indicators

✓ (1 black tick): Message Sent
✓✓ (2 black ticks): Message Received
✓✓ (2 blue ticks): Message Read
✓ (1 red tick): Message failed
Possible reasons for delivery failure:
  • More than 24h have passed since the last user message
  • The number is not linked to a WhatsApp account
  • The contact has no internet connection

How to edit your WhatsApp profile picture

  1. Log in to your Visito account
  2. Go to the Connect page > WhatsApp > Manage > WhatsApp settings > Set up
  3. Select your WhatsApp account
  4. Click on Profile
  5. Upload your image (Choose file)
  6. Click Save

Meta Business Portfolio (Required for WhatsApp and Facebook)

Meta (owner of WhatsApp and Facebook) requires you to manage your channels from a Meta Business Portfolio. Checklist before connecting:
  • You must have admin access
  • WhatsApp and Facebook must be linked to your portfolio
  • Facebook login credentials ready

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Click the People tab and then + Invite People
  3. Enter their email and choose access level
  4. Assign specific assets (Pages, WhatsApp numbers, etc.)
  5. Send the invitation
